Welcome to the Bay Area WAPS 2 Photos Page
On this page, you'll find photos of numerous Wired Access Points (WAPs) located in the San Francisco Ricochet Service Area. If you'd like me to post photos of WAPs in your Ricochet service area, email them to me at retiringyoung@ragingbull.com.

Sunnyvale, Ca.
Here's a WAP located in a government drop yard right around the corner from the Sunnyvale Fry's store. It's also right down the street from the AMD campus where I was almost busted for Ricocheting while trespassing.
|
Hero Health Network Building, Mountain View, Ca.
Here's a WAP on the roof of the Health Hero Networks building, on the corner of El Camino Real, and San Antonio Road in Mountain View. It's next to a small mall, a Chevy's, and a Wal Mart.
|
Apartment Complex, Palo Alto, Ca.
Here's a new WAP that's located across the street from the Stanford Shopping Mall, near the entrance to Stanford University. There are still no poletops on the Stanford University campus, so this WAP only allows you to Ricochet on the fringes of the campus.
Paul Allen donated many millions of dollars to Stanford University to build the Paul G. Allen Center for Integrated Studies, but the University still won't allow 20 or so radios to be placed on campus. Although Stanford is a not for profit organization, they want more money. Thanks for nothing Stanford.

Bank of America Building, Palo Alto, Ca.
Here's another WAP located just outside of Stanford University. This WAP is located 2 blocks from the Palo Alto Fry's Electronics store where a salesman reported in store speeds of 212kbps during a sales staff R2 demo. Don't get me started about Stanford University again.
|
Office Complex, Foster City, Ca.
Look carefully and you'll see some of the Metricom antennas on the roof of an office building in Foster City. Do you see the steel girders in the right side of the picture? The girders belong to a MAJOR Inktomi campus that is under construction.
|
Burlingame, Ca.
Here is a WAP which happens to be on the tallest building in Burlingame, Ca. The Burlingame downtown area is full of great coffee shops and restaurants that are perfect for Ricocheting.
|
Kaiser Hospital, Redwood City, Ca.
Here's a WAP on the roof of the Kaiser Permanante Hospital in Redwood City, Ca. This WAP is located in the heart of a blossoming high tech area, and is just down the street from the Excite @ Home campus.
